Le prince Adam est un prince apparemment insouciant et sans inquiétude aux yeux de la cour éternelle. Plus particulièrement, son père, le roi Randor, et Teela, le capitaine de la garde royale, le perçoivent comme un lâche. Ce qu'ils ne réalisent pas, c'est qu'il est en fait He-Man!

Cringer est l'ami "intrépide" et le chat de compagnie du prince Adam. Quand Adam doit défendre Eternia en se transformant en He-Man, il peut utiliser le même pouvoir pour transformer Cringer en le puissant chat de bataille. Bien que Battle Cat soit un guerrier courageux et puissant dans la lutte contre le mal, Cringer est une bête paresseuse et lâche, qui fuit souvent du premier signe de danger. En dépit d'être un lâche total, il est totalement fidèle à Adam et s'est même mis entre Adam et Danger.
